Well it's been an interesting last 2 months with a lot of new deals in place, work put in behind the scene's and projects ready to go. Unfortunately Rap fans we can't announce all the details of the deals yet but we figured we'd
better post where we're at with all this US talk circulating around cyber space, so: Dawn Raid has signed a label deal with one of the mentioned companies and we've negotiated 2 others for some prominent friends of ours, it's safe to
say that NZ HIP HOP thanks to a stellar effort from SAVAGE and the DAWN RAID camp over the 2008 / 2009 season is about to get some serious game time in the US.

This week we keep it coming with the highly acclaimed classic from Mareko - "White Sunday", which was a first for a New Zealander to have such big name appearances on the album including Beatnuts, Roc Raida (RIP), Tha Liks, Celph Titled and Rebel INS aka Inspectah Deck of the world famous Wu-Tang Clan. The track with Inspectah Deck was titled "Street Rap" and was Mareko's first release in the US on 12". While Mareko was posted up in New York recording he met and worked with many people including producers The Beat Digglerz who produced "Espionage". You will also see Joellz Ortiz (Red shirt behind Mareko in the photo). As well as featuring on "Major Flavour" Joell was in the studio with Mareko most of the time he was there and appears throughout the album.

This week we move into solo material... First up with solo albums was the highly acclaimed classic from Mareko - "White Sunday", which spawned the huge hit "Stop, Drop & Roll" featuring Deceptikonz. The success of that track led to a Remix produced by 41 (DJ 41:30/ Frontline) featuring Scribe & Flowz from infamous Wellington crew Footsouljahs (Pictured with Deceptikonz). Next solo album was slated to be Savage but during the recording process Alphrisk managed to knock out a awesome little album titled "The Best Kept Secret" to tide the DKONZ fans over. "Fifteen Islands" is the first track off the album and always been a favourite of many people. Alphrisk riding solo with Nate D on the boards.

"Elimination" first appeared on the second Dawn Raid compilation "Southside Story 2: International" it then became the title track for the classic debut Deceptikonz album. "More Than Meets The Eye" is another vintage track from "Elimination" playing on the Transformers theme.
